Halfords Trade Card??

Hey

Over the weekend me and a mate bled the brakes on my new (and much loved) Glanza, I bought some Dot 4 and instead of the £20 it should have been I only paid £7, thanks to his Halfords trade card.

I just looked into these little beauties and you have to be a mechanic (as I thought), has anyone thats not a mechanic managed to get one somehow?? I think I might try and convince them that my job as an aerospace engineer is essentially the same as a mechanic as we both use spanners!! lol :haha:

Cheers

for anyone in Ireland halfords has a discount scheme for Vodafone staff... they never asked to see my ID I just said "I work for Vodafone" and they gave me the discount. Think it was 10 or 20%

LOL! Too bad I don't live there then :(

I'll just go in some blue overalls and say I work for Peugeot or something...

as far as i know you have to prove that you work in motor trade. My bro and i got friendly with a guy in there from being in a few times and buying stuff for our old track car and he said he would sort us out with one, they really handy to have some good discounts for service parts and tools

the best advice is to not bother with halfords trade card at all, unless your going to buy tools with it.

i personally advise to use a specialist local trade outlet, as you will find that even there retail prices are cheaper than halfords and autocare.

hell no.

admittedly, some things arent that much cheaper, but alot of consumables are v.cheap. sometimes they beat internet prices. wiper blades, batteries and bulbs are very competitively priced when you use the trade card.

i just use my dads ;)

if you want a trade car you need either-
a qualification related to the motor trade
a letter from your college if you are currently in a motor industry related course
or a payslip from a company in the motor trade

they may also accept a bunch of invoices from motor factors that is basically saying you buy llots of parts, and often, but this is discretionary

the trade discounts are good on certain things and minimal on other things, but as said, for consumable there is big discounts.

someone mentioned they meet internet prices. they actually beat alot of internet prices
