i got mine off ricky ;) had to make 1 small mod to fit them as they dont actually sell them for the mk1.

my old cables had a split in them, kept filling them with wd40 in the meantime but glad i changed them. last MOT the bloke commented on the shite handbrake, works really well now!

how much did Ricky get them for you ,i had to fork out over 200euro last year for a new set ,Toyota Ireland are robbing b*st*rds, went to get new headlights and they wanted 500 euro and Jay priced them up north and only worked out at 200euro ,so well worth a 2 hour drive, just curious to see the drifference in price ,im sure Ricky got you aftermarket parts though

you can get them from any motor factors.

At the time i contacted Ricky and he could'nt get them and they were not availble in Ireland, what slight mod did you have to make to make them fit ,must say Ricky is a bit of a legend when it comes to aftermarket parts, always saving me a few bucks anyway

really simple. just had to drill out the holes in the cable splitter underneath the car. think you need to enlarge it to just over 10mm.

comes off nice and easy once the cables are disconnected. takes about 5 mins and then the rest fits perfectly

does it actually work properly now?

wish mine did, thatd be a dream! lol

Its best to replaced the cables.

I had to replace the whole rear brake system because of a bad winter on 2007 freezing them all the time to the point wheer the caliper seized completely.

i get this a lot. do u have to go to toyota for the cables ?

Yes you do, they are about £41 per side.

I can get you the part numbers if needed as I've still go the invoice when I got omse for mine.

I dont know of any aftermarket brake cables for starlets, not rear brakes ones anyway.

quality looks very good. as good as oem easily.

think they are about half the price of toyota genuine ones. like i said need to make a small modification if you have a mk1 to fit them but thats it, they fit and work perfectly

any slight modification to save a few quid is well worth it ,unfortunitly i could'nt get aftermarket parts at the time, but given the option i would rather buy aftermarket then genunie any day to save money, most of the time the aftermarkets are as good if not better
