went out in my car today and when using very little boost i get a really loud whining noise, i have always had a slight whining noise and just assumed it was turbo spool, but today it sounded much louder than normal.

could the bearings in my turbo be on there way out??

if so which hybrid ct9 would you recomend??

A whining noise would be the turbo out of ballance if you got your airfilter wet this could have caused it or my turbo whines a bit when cold.

the turbo was cold but it was much louder than normal, the turbo has been on the car for 6 months and has only just started whining really loud this morning, also there is no way the air filter could have got wet as it has been hot for the past couple of days.

the car still has loads of power i'm just worried of causing loads of damage.

Dont worry about it mate unless it gets bad, Any chance of posting a sound clip of it up?

As for hybrids I am looking into upgrading to trader on the site and supplying every turbo imaginable and to whatever specs at good prices.

is it a whislte or a whine. whistle is usually bearings going but a whine is usually it being out of balance.

mine seems to be a bit less whiney since removong the efi pipe for som reason. some days it sounds bad but there is no realy play on the intake side.

just keep an eye on it mate. very rarely just go out of balance nless its chipped a fin on one of the wheels

its a whiney whistle, its always had a slight whistle, but always assumed it was just turbo spool, it just seemed louder today.

also my stereo fuse blew today, and i've just relocated my battery to the boot, and i am also worrying about that, as i couldnt find a big enough fuse to put in the wire, but thought it would be ok as all i did was lengthen the existing power wire that goes direct off the battery.

i shall double check the turbo hoses just incase its that.

may sound stupid but are you 100% sure its not an alternator type whine through the speakers?

i know its a silly thing to ask but just incase you didnt think of it!

tryit again tomorrow before you do anything, air temps can make a big diffrence...

took it out for spin again still there, its not gonna go away:(, on the plus side it does feel so much quicker than it was, but thats prob just me.

i did fit a lower arm brace that is pushed against my exhaust, wonder if this could have forced any thing out of place??

spose the only thing to do is take it back off.:(
