Help with CT 9 hybrid not boosting

Hi.

I'm a newbie to the turbo scene but the ep91 turbo is one of my fav. cars. Recently I swapped my damaged ct9b stock turbo for a ct9 hybrid from www.speedvisioncps.com --> http://speedvisioncps.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30&products_id=177 <-- this one to be exact.

CT9 hybrid with uprated adjustable actuator & ported wastegate

Now the car doesn't seem to always boost i.e the turbo lights do not always go green BUT sometimes they do -- no pattern just random. when it does boost it gives a much better kick than before.

Things to note : everything is stock on the car except the mani headers are from speedvision & the intake has a custom CAI setup. I didn't install the down pipe yet. And its an A/T.

What's wrong? Please help!

check for leaks around the mani turbo etc, have a brand new speedvision mild steel mani here and the flange is warped.. also get on the free flowing down pipe as soon as you can especially with the hybrid

av the same thing with my set up at the moment. it maybe a leak in a intercooler pipe or the turbo to intercooler gasket. i think my turbo/intercooler gasket is fookd so i am going to get a new gasket and studs.

After all boost leaks and actuator are fixed , remember most normal driving with the auto box is below 3000 rpm any hybid that spools above 3000rpm will be impractical compared to the ct9b that spools around 1800 rpm.

After I re-pack all the gaskets, should I be adjusting the actuator orr something to get it to spool faster?

Getting an HKS adjustable actuator is a good idea if your current actuator spring is weak it will leak boost early and delay spool.

Ive got this exact turbo and its actually really good, did you change all gaskets etc when swapping turbos over and did you check the vaccum hose from actuator to compressor housing as mine was loose when i first got it. Manifold gasket would of been a must as i used an old one and it just leaked in like 4 places.

Yeah I changed all gaskets with the new mani and down pipe. I found the culprit. A nasty leak around the exhaust mani... From 4 places :(:.. I guess need new gaskets...

i ported my ct9 from stock 22mm to 26mm with a modified wastegate penny. i think i made the wastegate too big and also the exhaust manifold is leaking so i led to me getting beaten by a clio 172 cup...:( going to fit it 2moro :)
