Help with the touch pad/mouse on my laptop !

switched on my today and the mouse/touch pad is working the wrong way round
when i go up its moves down and when i got left it goes right :haha: it really is a nightmare to work like this HELP

its a dell vostra 1700 iv owned it for years and she's been in the war's :shoot:

can you configure it it the control panel mark? like you would a joystick for a game?

Think you should be able to sort it how dan says

click control panel
click mouse
click device settings
click settings at the top
click defaults
click apply

Does this rectify the problem?

do you still have same problem after restarting the laptop as i think they re-calibrate on start up

Sounds to me like you might of inverted the mouse somehow. If you can find the make and model of your laptop go to the manufacturer website and download the mouse driver and reinstall it over the top of the existing driver. This should hopefully reset things back to default. Obviously if you have say a USB mouse you can plug in to do this on your laptop it would help. Or if you're feeling adventurous you could just go into the mouse control panel and see if there is a way of un-inverting it so to speak.

sorry for the delay in update but i switched on my laptop the next night and it worked fine ! cheers for all the input tho
