I have been havin the same problem and its been the pcv valve tht snapped of on top of the rocker but under the tmic. Small peice o shit tht plays a vital part in the cars day to day running and pretty steep to get a new one ... 40 - 50 sheets ::homer:

hope this helps

pcv valve is on top out the engine if ya have a top mount its under it connects to a vac hose id try checking ur map sensor vacuum also it goes from the sensor on the left of the firewall to the back of ur inlet manifold

Check the vacume hoses at the back of the intake manifold, 1 may have come off. That will cause the high idle, mine was at 3000rpm before.

when i started my v a couple days ago in the morning (-10 deg c) it ran fine for about 5 mins on idle then started revving up to 2k and dropping back to 1k and so forth,

i changed the idle control valve for another i had in the garage and it solved the problem or so i thought, was fine all that day, i then came to it yesterday morning and it did exactly the same thing even with the new icv, so ive now changed the thermostat and its been fine since,

could be this? dont know how likely but just a thought :)

ill give it a change see wat happens!! had a prob b4 wit the temostat b4 about a year ago but didnt cause the over reving i gettin when the cars warm! never overheats

matt i had the same problem this morning and it is down to the radiator freezing over a bit but not completely resulting in the car reving to heat up i suppose once the radiator melted it returned to normal well so far anyway
