High rev only on idle

Afternoon, daily without fail when i turn my car on it revs at 1500 revs when cold.

as soon as it starts to pick up temp it lowers and when warm it will rev at just below 1000.

this ok? pisses my parents off if anything, the extra half 1000 revs makes a big noise difference!

How long does it take to get upto temp? Mine took no more than 5 mins/3 miles of driving before temp gauge was half way.

Hi mines done that and turned out to stuck open thermostat changed it and was all ok

Mine does the same when it is cold. Its normal when its warming up

Mine did that too, rev's at around 1200-1500 rpm for a few mins then warms up a bit and the revs calm down.
