you must be the bloke russell thorpe(drives a red r5 gtt) was on about.he also competes in hill climbs/sprints.he was saying your car was rapid at a certain sprint/hill climb?

out of interest how does your glanza compare to his r5 gtt?or are you in different classes?

I'm hoping to prep my EP82 for sprints and hillclimbs in Canada ... here's the Miata I ran at Knox Mountain Hillclimb in 2010. Getting mine built in time will be the tough part ... no parts here :)

I do indeed know Russel and Doris well!! Yes i compete at pretty much all of my events against Russel. How I compare very much depends on the event. At quicker flowing venues I have the legs, but he has more response than me so when it gets to tighter circuits he is usually on top of me. I am however focusing on response for this season with a new revised garrett setup so should get closer to where I need to be at.

Also with the lack of power I had at the last few events of the season I was struggling somewhat. (Badly build engine and rubbish Speedvision head gasket!!)

Although I may be moving up a class this season into the modified production class which gives me more flexibility on suspension and weight loss.

what is the restrictions on engine mods and what power is your glanza running?

No restrictions other than it must use the original block. Power wise was around 260 but dropped off due to my compression loss. Im moving to a Garrett turbo this year which should get me the response and power im aiming for :)
