its to the descretion of the insurer in most cases. depends how bad it is and what has been bent/damaged.

basically if its cheaper to write the car off than repair it then that usually happens.

Depends on the value of the car.

if the cost of repair is 60% the value of the car, it will be written off.

its not with insurance im wondering wether to fix it or break it it would need new bonnet wing headlights grill bumper the slam pannel pulling out but the chassy leg is pointing at the floor

Generally a car is written off if the repair bills come to 50% of the value of the vehicle. Sometimes less and sometimes more and this can also differ depending on the area damaged (ie if the roof is damaged the car is usually deemed unsafe to repair).
