HOw to recognize LSD Gear

Dear Friends,

Can anyone help me, how to recognize LSD gear , as i have starlet EP-82 with automatic transmission and wanted to change it into manual, the gears are available here, but they seller dosen't know anything about LSD, nor i know.

Could you please help me?

i assume u mean a lsd gear box

now the best way is to break the gearbox and look

however, if u cant, then try to look through the centre section where the drive shafts go,,,if u see a small bar across the centre...then its a stock box...like in the link below

if it had an free/open space, then it maybe an aftermarket lsd

if u cant see through it at all---it has like a coin in the centre...then it may be a TRD helical lsd

now the stock/oem lsd has a small housing attached to the gearbox...it should come with "equal" length drive shafts......get the mounts and brackets also, u will need them

if the box has in the drive shafts...turn one, and see if the other turns the same direction

NOW..as i said before...these are only pointers....the best way is to break the box to find out for sure
