It will be fine, providing it isn't caked on with a brush and covering the gaps between all the fins.

As far as I know, genuine blitz coolers have 'blitz' embossed on the top face of the cooler.

It does effect the heat dissipation but you will not feel the difference :)
If you want you can use some paint stripper on it :D

This is what a blitz one should look like this one is mine.

if the paint blocks the fins then it WILL be crap!

ROB H - I have always wanted to ask you because of your signature - why as has your other hobby only got 3.75 legs?

im sure the fins ar not blocked with paint do ye realise how much paint that would take! i painted mine black and tbh its all the same as before

Painting it is essentially adding an insulation layer which isn't exactly ideal in heat transfer. On a FMIC there are so many fins and so much surface area, I highly doubt you would see an increase in intake temps.

The stock top mount comes painted there is a lot of cars have stock painted intercoolers. As long as you dont cake it on like a fat bird from essex should be spot on. I done mine years ago never any issues. I over heard a few people at japfest saying my car was a non turbo which made me laugh.

As said above by a few as long as you put a few layers it should be fine but if the paint gets near the fins may affect it after awhile... There are a few paints that say they are heat resistant but they are crap so make sure you get a good paint
