lost boost

last tuesday i drove to work fine running the set boost of 1.2bar. done my days work and on heading home i accelerated slightly when i noticed my dump valve didnt "dump" very much so when i got to the open road i floored it and was only getting 0.6bar and has been like that ever since. i have also noticed the exhaust sounds deeper

I have checked all vacuum lines etc I/C connections bla bla bla but everything looks ok

could my turbo be on its way out??? :homer: or is it something more simple that i may have missed?? :slap:

im currently running:

S/S mani
S/S decat
HDI fmic
HKS actuator with turbosmart boost controller (dunno why tho)
FSE RRFPR
FM air filter

from what ive read 1.2 bar is too much for standard ct9 i think 1 bar is limit so maybe thats fucked ur turbo, as you say you have checked all the obvious things like vac lines intercooler pipes yeh so could be best to take the turbo off and have a look for damage.

Check the actuator mate, i had a similar problem and my boost dropped from 1.4bar to 0.6bar and it was the C clip that holds the actuator rod onto the bottom of my mani.

the actuators def attatched, its on with nut and bolt altho thats what it feels like., more laggy then only boosts 0.6

i have a turbo in my garage that is slightly smokey on cold start up so i'll await further idea's then may consider swapping them over

mine is running like that just now too mate but its my actuator thats away, just waiting on monster getting their stock from japland and all will be sorted.

ps stay clear of AVA, if your not driving a ford then theyre not interested in gettin things right

If your exhaust sounds deeper too it could well be a problem related to your actuator, give everything to do with it a good check over mate

problem solved.! as i said above i have a HKS actuator AND a turbosmart boos controller., well on further inspection tonight where that sits and "rattles" about the boost had wound itself back so reset it to where it was and its going absolutely spot on now

cheers for all the input guys

oh and alan, it was all done and setup before i got it and seems to A-ok so far

AVA are specialists in Fords but they know there stuff about anycar, if they wernt interested in Starlets then why did they build a 260bhp+ 2 tone starlet? and Help me with all my problems?

All this nonsence about them being shit is bullshit.
