LOUD knoking noise....

Hey so i just bought a glanza and it started knocking really bad on my drive home from buying it lol!...it sounds like it coming from the top left-hand side of the head. the glanza hasnt been driven in 2-3months prior..any ideas would it could be and was the cause was?

seems they may have made up that it wasnt driven,when infact as soon as the old owner realised there was a problem put it up for sale,with a bullshit story to go with it!!

you should of turned straight around,or didyou test drive it??

Well it could be what arronw said, but it could also be other things.. im wondering did you check the oil level before driving off mate? also what kind of knocking noise is it? can you post a pic up of the area where the noise is coming from?

i dont have a pic but its coming from the left hand side of the engine, its makes a loud knocking sound from the oil cap area and a metalic squealing noise from the left hand side near the pulley?..

yeah checked the oil and seemed fine?, i even test drove it and it sounded well, ....i thought maybe the oil channels could be blocked and starved the head?

i contacted the seller as soon as i got home and he gave me a full refund straight away so i dont recon he was out to rip me off.....i ended up buying back for a much more suitable price:rockon:

could you take a vid of the engine running, so maybe we can help you identify what the sound your hearing is.

yeah ill post a vid in the morning, as the revs get higher the knocking gets louder no supprise lol...

if the knocking is constant it may well be a bearing.. but i dont want to spurt out any theories on what it could be before iv heard her running..

in the vid try & inlcude tickover, slow idle & rev her gently (it at a steady pace) so we can try & identify what it could be mate.

it could be big end bearings? dip the clutch rev it to 3k and see if it knocks loud, if it does then it could be that, thats what i was advised a while back when i had some knocking, turned out to be a cv joint in the end! how i was wrong lol!

my point exactly mate, till we hear the vid we cant really speculate what the noise is.
