Manual boost controllers?

Hey guys. My car is goin in for tuning soon on a hybrid setup with safc etc etc. But basically i have a jam actuator (which i believe is set to 0.95bar on high) but im looking at running around 1.1-1.2bar. So my question is could i just use a manual boost controller to up the boost slightly as it seems alot of money to get an EBC for the sake of 0.15bar and also would it be safe?

Any help would be much appreciated and also if anyone has one for sale let me know.

Cheers Graham

Yes it would be fine mate however you might get a slightly more stable boost pressure from a ebc but a mbc is perfectly capable of dooing the job

Get a Dawes Device which is spring loaded rather than bleeding air off.

I removed my HKS EVC3 and re-fitted my Dawes :).

The Turbosmart MBC is great, no problems with it at all.
No spikes, no tail off etc etc.
Its also spring loaded.

All manual boost controllers are based on the dawes device. I use one, an eBay item and it holds boost fine. Should perform better than an EBC, I know many who think so.

3 Bar racing sell them and they come from America, Idd prefer the proper brass Dawes never had any trouble with it.

They are not all based on a dawes as you already know some just bleed off boost pressure.

Yeah but some unscrupulous partys may call them Boost controllers when in fact they are just basically a variable hole in the pipe.
