well i figured that this ment a bulb had gone in my fog lamp switch so i changed the switch and still the same, is there even a bulb in the switch ? if not how do i rectify this to pass an mot,
thanks
thanks
I just bought a switch from Halfords that had a light in it. Mine didn't have a fog light or fog light switch in it anyways, so I had to get a switch and wire in my bottom brake lights to that switch via a relay.
Also I think you have to label the fog switch up so that it's clear what it's for. That's what I read a few years back, not sure if its still true now.
i've got a fog light switch on the car but nothing lights up inside when it's pressed.
IF it's one of those rocker switches with an LED built in, the switch probably isn't wired correctly.
I'm guessing you have the fog lamp earthed and the switch switching the +12v to the fog lamp? Do you have an earth connected to the switch to ground the LED?
If you take the switch out the terminals are usually labelled to show which connections are for the fog lamp and which ones are for the LED indicator.
Doesn't mean anything that its passed a UK MOT before, most are dodgy these days! There's just the stamdard push in fog light switch, there's got to be something that lights up somewhere as its passed mots in the uk before i owned it ?
