used to be quite in to my biking until i snapped my pelvis riding downhill
forget halfords and the like mate, you want a small family run type bike shop, they exist in most towns if you look around, they tend to actually know the product and have much better customer service
at this time of year the 2010 bikes are all the rage and you will find new 2009, named brand bikes at heavily discounted prices if you shop around

In my younger not so lazy days ;-) I used to do Mountain Bike Downhill Racing. Used to ride a KHS (ironic I know) which cost more than what I paid for the starlet, ha ha. But stick to something quality mate like Giant, Diamondback or Cannondale as otherwise you going to get pissed off at a cheapie when its breaking all the time or you standing on the pavement putting the chain back into the cogs every ten mins.

Thanks Alan, I don't have much knowledge on bikes but did gather it was a sweet price. 17miles to collect in the starbo - success:)

Popsy - i'd get a quote by a courier, it can't be that bad if you find a good buy of bike.

Focus ftw!

Check out Wiggle.co.uk - they've got some good deals going down! Buy from somewhere reputable....

I wouldnt trust halfords to find me a cable tie let alone set up a bike!!
