Mk1 MR2's are 4X100 fitment the same as a Starlet so yes you should be able to use them. The mk2 MR2's are a five stud setup which is no good. I think the mk3 version (recent ones) went back to the 4X100.

So long as you stick close to ET38 you should be fine, the lower the number the further out the wheels will sit, for example I've noticed ET35's can make the outside tyrewall scuff the OSR arch at times depending on the wheels in question. I would try before you buy if at all possible.

well there standard mr2 4 stud alloys!, dunno how to go about finding the main offset on standard wheels.
i think it depends how wide the wheel is 6.5, 7 etc so not always true?

Exactly, either he needs to provide more info on the exact wheels (which even then is a guessimate as suspension settings could be an issue) or try beforehand.
