n/a and turbo brake calipers

I was going to fit my GT brakes to the missus's EP91 NA before, but decided not to as my discs were so worn!!!

Anyway, the calipers did look identical to me, meaning its the carrier thats different as someone has said already.

Thickness wise, they are both crap at 18mm thick (hence why i changed my turbo brakes). A GT is somewhere in region of 255-260mm, the NA i believe is somewhere around 240mm.

As for the hub differences i hve no idea there so will be a case of try and see how it goes!

The later na Starlets have discs and calipers the same as a GT.

The earlier UK ones have smaller discs and calipers on them, 225mm from memory. Good for stopping you once from a ton!!

The early ones also had no carrier for the caliper, they bolted directly to the hub, so fitting GT calipers to them means you have to change the hubs also.

Probly as soon as they changed to ep91(1996ish), and ran the 4efe.

The 2e engine was les powerful and less weight so would of had the lesser braking force.

cheers, i love whooping skylines and porches in my GT lol :p

i strongly recomend a bigger caliper swap, one of the best thing you can do when modding a car, talking from experiance i know where to start now, it is true, brakes and suspension beats power espesially in a fwd car!

Cool, do some research on the 2pots im using ive posted up what you need if you do a search,

a good socket set with various extensions
Breaker bar
crowbar (removing drivshafts)
axel stands, jack,
you'll need to be quite strong for lifting the box up and down:p
pliers for cclips on the cables.

and dont forget gearbox oil:p

They are different callipers, and they are different calliper brackets, and they are also different disks.

EP91/SR disks are smaller making the calliper brackets different (because they sit the disks closer to the centre of the hub)
EP91/SR disks are thinner making the callipers different (because the distance between the calliper claws needs to be smaller.
The bores are different, but its not to much of a problem, just buy the right Disks.
