Need help PLEASE!!! Please read!

Right here it goes im at my end of my teder with this car really thinking about shifting it on it just keeps letting me down! i hope someone can shine some light on this!!:(

Right i took my fuel rail out and unpluged the injectors the other day, just doing some general tiding up, anyway i resealed the injectors conected it all back up and now the engine light is on and the car wont fire up!

Now dont kill me i put a bit of brake cleaner stuff in the inlet just to fire it up! the car runs fine when its running, so i was thinking ah if i bring it out for good drive that would do the trick so i brought it down the motorway...

When i keep the car at steady rev's the engine light goes off then with the slightest of touchs with the right foot it goes back on??

Now iv been told that my car has gone into a safe mod cause it thinks something is wrong? would this be right? (sorry about my terms) i tryed to reset my ecu(standard) by disconnecting my batt is there another way of reseting the ecu?

please please someone help me i need the car for getting to work monday morning!

you can check the fault code that the ecu is giving you. now sure which pinouts it was but the diagnostics plug under the hood needs 2 pinns connected and if you turn the ignition to on the engine licht will flicker. for instance: flicker 5 times, pause, ficker 2 times, that is fault code 52. and that can be looked op on a list.

i'm sure someone else knows which pins need to be connected and has the fault code list.
this will narrow your search down for your problem

im not 100% sure myself as ive always had it connected. it is a sensor ground if i remember correctly so may cause strange ecu codes if not connected.
worth checking first anyway

yup! could be un connected but touching something so doing a bit of earthing! and playing up...

I re-earthed it still no joy im afraid i havent got a code yet going to do it in work tomo will post up straight away!

Iv got an error code of 22 (cts)?? Can anyone tell what this is and please tell me its nothing huge!? ha on the list of the page you gave me madman it says cts circuit short/open-circuit?

coolant temperature sensor! check the wire on the sensor in the thermostat housing.. that should be it.. if the wiring is fine then sensor is toast

Yeah my gauage stopped working about two weeks ago so it must be the sensor itself? sound right?:confused:

Right im getting really browned off at this stage i replaced sensor and the thermostat and STILL the engine light is on!!
