guys i need too get some free anti virus/net security.

currently using one of the avg versions, but for some reason on pages like ebay, an facebook anything which has alot of diffrent articles etc it seems too lag an i dont quite know why.

but it ont do it when the avg is not installed.

any ideas guys rep waiting

so long as your copy of windows is legit, you can download and install microsoft security essentials - it's a handy protection kit. try it..

haven't used any others so can't vouch for them..

As said mate avast and install windows defender or for a cheap paid anti virus try kasperspy or google free antivirus trial some antivirus you can get 6 months free trial etc...

something worth remembering is that free stuff isn't always the most efficient or the best. a few have been known to have some glitches. my reason for going with security essentials is that it checks your copy of windows, whether genuine or not then agrees to install if legit. this way, you've already kinda paid microsoft for the security essentials package..

Don't forget to uninstal AVG first having 2 antivirus installed can bring more issues.
The reason i like a separate program from windows is virus software very often is attacked directly , the last thing you want is your virus software associated with the operating system licencing when it gets corrupted.

@Rev: i concur with you on that.. it's just a little tuff when you are shopping in the free-stuff section, otherwise i'd have recommended BitDefender for him - that's the all-time most efficient anti-anything i've known through-out my pc life.. which has been a long minute..

With AVG, just remove the 'safe search / surf' components. That's the one that does live website scanning and checks google search results & slows everything down. Otherwise, i recommend the Microsoft one that's been mentioned on here already
