I have an HKS silent power - and it's brilliant below 3K RPM, but afterwards.....

What can I do to make it not so noisy???

Thx a lot!

is there any particular reason why you want to reduce the noise?my friend had one on his starlet and i thought it was ideal, quiet at tickover and like you say below 3k but above that on full chat it was nice and sounded good.imho thats perfect, thats the ideal setup for road driving and especially in and about villages.not to anti-social:drive:

the only way i can think of is to incorporate more silencers and or reduce the diameter of the back box outlet, possibly fabricate a bung for fitting in the outlet.

How about welding in another silencer??? Say a standard Toyota one?

The reason why is because I can't hear my mrs in the car once I over 3K rpm... I can barely hear the stereo as well -)

Hi Paul, Search ebay for "exhaust packing" and "exhaust bungs". i went down this road with my ex- KLR650 performance pipe. You can place a bung and or packing material before the rear silencer at the flange above the rear-axle or in the end of the tail-pipe. Your biggest issue is making sure it stays in there and does not get blown out!
cheers,
chris

Found a lot of these stuff on EBay, got confused even more! Do you just put it inside the exhaust box and how exactly it would stay inside - this is what I don't understand! Getting to 7K rpm will blow it for sure...

Perosnally I would invest in bigger speakers and a megaphone for the misses.

Ive got the same exhaust on my Glanza and to be honest I thought it was really quiet compared to my old Alfa, but if it needs to be quieter a bung or an aditional silencer are your best bet.

Just slip in ur backbox and get bolted through the wee hole in them, might need to drill a wee hole on the underside of ur backbox for bolting it up:) makes a good differance!
