odd sounding boost?!

Having a bit of a problem with my gt today. it has been off the road for a couple of months for winter but decided to take it for a run today since it ws a nice day.

As soon as comes onto boost it whistles quite loudly, but not a normal whistle and its not boosting quite as well. I thought it mite be a loose pipe somewhere as i had my intercooler etc off for painting but all the pipes are tight. Any ideas what mite be causing this?

Also, i know this is the wrong section for this but when i was driving it, trying to make sense of the wierd whistle, i put it into third, low revs and it started rattling like mad. Now it does not lyk 3rd gear and rattles as soon as you select it. All other gears are fine and it stil drives well. Does this sound lyk a gearbox in skip job lol?

what are you boosting to..?
so are you saying the whistle is only in 3rd or what..? you kinda lost me there.. :/

Check the blades on the compressor wheel. They could be chipped giving a funny sound and also lack of throttle response.

no the whistling has nothing to do with the gearbox problem, jst weird they both happend today after i havent drove it for 2 month.
Everything was fine last time i drove it, wasnt even being hard on it when 3rd went and as for the whistling it was ther as soon as i pulled away, just sounds leaky lol.
Oh and ye i have a boost gauge, used to be getting 1.1 bar, nw only bout 0.9 but that mite just be the ecu setting itself up again..

Aye kl mark, il give you a phone in the nxt couple o days.

Checked my turbo today, no chips etc. and no shaft play. Also double checked all jubilees and hoses, few of them tightened a little bit but it hasnt made a differnce. I think i mate check wastegate for a big crack next.

Took it down the road and back earlier,still whistling and slight rattle coming from gearbox in all gears now but you cant evn use third, bit more worried bout this than the whistle now lol.

I would be slightly more worried about the box as well :haha:
When was the fluid last changed? Does sound like you got some synchro floating about in the box.

Probably when the clutch was done about a year ago, and the box was re-cond 2 and a half years ago.
Also it doesn't even get driven tht much, it kind of a weekend toy now.
