i work at bae and we build stuff for the mod and whilst out havin a smoke an apache gun ship stormed in and did a small display before landing on our airstrip. i am slightly gooney and i loved it lol.

p.s had to tell someone and this was the first thing i came across lol

Its surprising what modern helecopters can do these days! They are like mini fighter planes, just not as quick, but equally agile and carry loads of stuff! Must have been quite a sight! Not a fan of planes or helecopters but defo a fan of well made machinery! Shame you didn't snap it down on the camera phone and you tubed it!

Bet the pilot must have been "test" flying it lol..

occasionally get jet fighters flying by my house but not often couple of times a year.

i tried to get it on my phone but nokias dont let u take photos or videos if the battery is low i was quite annoyed. I agree it is amazin what technnology is used but before any one thinks im a plane spotter im not lol. jst build huds for em and stuff so find it interestin

actually the apache is quite shite as helicopters go these days, its role is more of a tank that flies rather than anything else but do they look mean as fcuk and they do their job very well, they are actually slow and cumbersome to helicopters such as the gazelle etc (1st chopper to do the loop - i think) now the commanche is a different thing!!!!

if its a helicopter why do they call it a ship :p

watched the display at Dunsfold this year, at must admit i was amazed what they can do with them machines

saw such a display when i was in the army 12 years ago, we had just bought several apaches... :)

apaches are cracking choppers. its RTM 322 engines that go into them, we test them up here in east kilbride. awesome, dinky little engine. it takes 3 of them, plenty of power to do crazy takeoff's etc...
