oil leak help needed

as said i have a oil leak it is coming out from the inlet camshaft where the cap screws down out beside the pully wheel oil leaks out through the middle of the cap were you can see the cam . . am i missing a seal or something . . any help would be great

cheers brian

well when i bought the full head gasket set of toyota it never included a seal it only had a seal for the camshaft with the pully wheel on it

its only the bit the cam that sits in the cap you can see . . as far as i can understand the cap should act as a seal i have gasket seal put in the slots in the cap

but i could be wrong and just never got the seal in the set of toyota

think i figured out my problem i think i may be missing a camshaft housing plug?

that is the one. you dont get that seal/plug with the headgasket or full gasket sets :( i just clean it up and put some sealant round it and refit. works ok.

You should also have put some sealant outside of the 2 grooves on the cam end cap, it helps keep oil in as well as the cap. You can take the end cap off easily when the top pulley is off.
