Oil pump

Im just rebuilding my engine, and my mate said to me that im gonna need a new Oil pump, Now what does everyone think about this? Its been in my house and not in Oil, apparently the bearings wear or summat....

for the price of one dont take the chance just replace it bud 100%

i would recomend changing everything whilst you have the chance, the oil pump is a big job when the engine is back in its home, so is the water pump.

also the crank seal.

if there's no excessive play or wear on the rotor or housing there's no need to replace it but like the other members have rightly said. Nothing like new!

I agree, only change it if its worn or badly scored or has seen lots of miles.

BTW there is no bearings in it, you sure you are getting good advice?

trust me just change the thing, thats like rebuilding your engine and saying ah the timing belt looks ok ill just fit the old one back on. play with fire and you will get your fingers burned springs to mind.
