Hi all,

Just done a engine change on my ep91 previous owner decided he could build a forged engine which left me with a destroyed block when the conrods decided to escape! Anyway decided to just run a standard 4efte engine with my ct9 hybrid turbo on it for now until i can afford to go forged again. Started up first time beautifully idle real smooth and there was no misfires through the range. Came to run her up this morning struggled to start and there was major backfiring from the exhaust and when i whipped the plugs out the were soaked in fuel ive tried turning my fpr down to see if it helps but ive had no joy! Any ideas are really much appreciated!:)

Thanks people!

take them out and get flow tested.

do a diagnostics test first.

also have you got the pipes on the inlet manifold the right way round, if you get 1 in the wrong place the engine gets flooded with water.

From the sounds of it, you could have the cams one tooth out from the crank ;)

Did this about August and caused this exact fault ;)
