Petrol Low Light

I let my tank run down about a month ago, and now even if I fill right up the damn light wont go off (though it goes dimmer when it shouldnt be on, and brighter when I actually have hardly any fuel left)

Anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know if theres a seperate part of the sensor for this (and is the sensor on the fuel pump assembly?)

sounds like something to do with the pump assembly..

theres a sensor in ur tank ,when its not covered with fuel ,the fuel indication on ur dash light on and when fuel level is above it ti comes off..
may be this sensor is fucked

Sorry I should have put - the petrol level indicator works perfect..
