i know a lad with one and it has been pretty good.

he has done a gearbox in but he drives it like he stole it and takes it on trackdays.

he bought it as an utter dog for £1500. payed for a cheap respray and got it tuned and setup on the rollers and its been a pretty good car since

A mate of mine has one with 315bhp and it flies. The spool up and acceleration is just awesome but it's causing trouble, as said, with gearbox and drivetrain. His old one blew up at Santa Pod too lol.

fit a quaife gearset then watch the gearcasing crack lol.

they are bloody quick and have next to no lag, i found mine in 1st and 2nd was amazing quick then after that was a bit cack really, mine was RR'd at 296bhp.

If you get one that's been looked after and don't launch it then there isn't too much to go wrong. Check out gtiroc, good helpful group of people :)

i had one and absolutly loved it!!

just the waterpump that went.

id say if you do alot of miles then i wouldnt get one as mine was doin bout 17mpg
if i didnt lovemy gt somuch id chose between another pulsar or a mazda 323gtr (like a mini pulsar)

if you can afford it,...gofor it but make sure you go on the gtir forum and look at the 'buying an R' section for what to look for.

they rot from the inside out according to alan d(he had one). another local guy has had nothing but trouble from his, parts are unbelievably expensive from nissan. be careful.

fuck me im very negative these days!

ive heard the reason they have the pull out umbrella in the side of the door is for when you need to change the gearbox and its lashing down :D

also heard of a few clutch pedals snapping off.

mate had one with 420bhp think it was he had spent like 15k on the engine and he said no matter what he did it still seemed to eat the clutch after 4 or 5 launches lol no trouble with the gear box though (just lucky i guess) and he sold it wanting it to go to a good home but his mate bought it and then upped the boost more and blew the engine :( he was gutted to see his pulsar dead :( far to expensive to tune/run. but awesome cars if you have alot of disposable income :D
