Radiator fan not kicking in

I took my rad to change my mani and ever since it never kicks back in, let the car warm up as normal but it doesn't work. The fan does still work as I have it running constant at the moment but its a pain in the neck.

No plugs snapped or anything, using Toyota Pre-Mixed coolant.

Cheers in advance

your problem is the thermo time switch. it is located on the back (firewall side) of the thermostat housing.

when coolant temps gets to the optomim running conditions the ptc temp sensor kicks in and sends a signal to the ecu which switches the fan on.

1st thing to check is weather or not it is plugged in and is making a good connection
2nd is to check that the wiring for that particular sensor isnt faulty. these are extreemly prone to braking off at the loom wrapping as the wiring was not really made long enough.

Having problems finding it. I've checked most of the plugs and wires around the thermostat and everything seems to be in good order :s

its the one on the return pipe to the bottom rad hose. just after the bulge behind the thermostat on the firewall side (the plug also points to the firewall side and is the only one that does so on the housing).

if you cannot find anything wrong with the plug/cable check there is power going there. should be constant. and it will earth when temp gets high then the ecu sends a signal to start the fan

if power is there, then i suggest it would be a faulty sensor

cheers

Well I think i've found it, if it's the one that actually controls the temp gauge in the cluster that is!! If it is that one then there is power going to it because it's showing a reading but it doesn't seem to kick the fan in.

P.s. This is the only one I can find on the housing, pointing towards the firewall, looks like about a 13mm with a white end on it.

are u sure u plugged ur fan in again. the plug is beside the passenger head light
or it could be the ect sensor that controls fueling and determines when ur fan comes on
