Rear wheel bearing - help please.

Hey up, as I turn right, I get a noise which I think is from my rear offside wheel. After checking everything is tight, I can only think that its the wheel bearing.
Just wondering if;

a) The wheel bearing can be replaced without having to replace the discs?
and,
b) Is the rear wheel bearing the same as the standard UK starlet?

If anyone knows please let me know ASAP as I can order one at work tonight and have it delivered for tomorrow.

Cheers, Phil.

the rear wheel bearing can be changed without new discs needed.

most motor factors will stock rear bearings, if of top my head it was a good couple years back when i did mine i got them off partco who iirc the mr2 bearings fit

Have you checked the wheel for any "play"?

Cheers lads. Not so keen on camskill since I ordered a CV joint and they sent me the wrong one, then said they wouldn't have the other type for 6 weeks, so not wanting to use them again if I can.

Yeah there is play with the wheel both side to side and top to bottom, thats what I noticed first. Will look into the mr2 bearings and see if I can find anything out.

Hopefully someone might have done theirs recently and be able to say which one it is. Failing that, I've just seen one on fleBay which isn't too far from where I live so if needs be, I'll see if they'll let me pick it up instead of paying £10 for postage.

Rep added to both for quick replies.

Also, found that tutorial but thanks for that too.

Cheers.

since your from sheff try n find out the size n such & citybearings should have one that suits or take yours off n go in with it as a few people i know go there for that

Cheers Shizer, will give them a bell tomorrow, not heard of them before.
Either that or theres a place in Chesterfield that does the wheel bearing so might be just as well going to them, and they're £25...
Spoken to the bloke who owns the company before about other bits and he seems sound, so might go check them out.

Thanks again though, rep added.

Cheers.

Just had a quick search on toyodiy.com and it appears to be the same wheel bearings for the Paseo, so going to check out the price of them at work tomorrow (if our suppliers do them) and fingers crossed all will be well.

I would change both rear and with the discs - camskill has one for sale - I do recommend them! Normally when u change 1 the other one will go within a few months (at least that was on my old starlet).

Know what you're saying Paul but its been an expensive month, so will be doing the one thats gone tomorrow and if the other goes I'll do that one when it does.
I've used camskill before and someones already mentioned them, I know they do the discs and bearings for £122 for the pair, but if you've read further up the thread, I'm not too keen on camskill after they dicked me about, shame really cause I've spent a fair bit with them through tyres. Plus, my rear discs are in a pretty good shape, so not really wanting to shell out for something that doesn't need changing for a while.
