reliability??

hey people soon to be getting a starlet gt turbo and just wondered on reliability of them? as i dont wana buy one then have to replcase shit within a month of having it? what are the things to look out for when buying one.cheers joe

buy a standard well look after one and dont buy cheap. you have to remember that the car is getting old now so things are more likely to break.

i got one for £1500 a couple of years back and its a bit of a shitter. and that was a fair price at the time.

If that's your budget, your be better off saving for a bit longer to get a good car.

its a starlet or a honda crx :/ seen afew starlets but theyve done like 120kmiles

that mileage isnt a major worry. but at the budget your looking at you wont get much better than that. will be high mileage, rough examples im afriad. i would look at a min of 2-2.5k to get something worth buying if its your 1st GT unless you want it as a project or something.

starlets are bulletproof most have fallen into the wrong hands and been abused and poorly maintained. ust be carefull u dont buy a lemon.

there are bargains out there to be had tho.
i paid 1100 quid for this 1 with 75k on the clock still in km, some service history and previous mots.

ok it had no tax or mot, but it sailed the mot with 1 advisory. the whole car was mint and ran sweet as a nut.

never had any major problems with my Glanza, I would consider them to be very reliable. As stated above though - if you are looking for reliability dont buy one that has any significant modifications.

Only Problems i have had is when you start putting bigger turbo's on them stuff will break but its fun car to drive

Well speaking about reliability these car.s amaze me . On drive home frm work last nite in dublin floods there was trucks vans and audi.s to passats all stuck and broke down in the floods and wit the water cuming nearly up over my bonnet to my suprize the little ep82 jst kept goin and goin ! Toyota all the way ! !
