rocker cover oil???

hi guys i took the car for a drive today along the motorway(and give it a bitof throttle, hoping to give it a good blasting out to be honest) but i started to smell something burning so i pulled over and there was oil all over the rocker cover ive a couple of places i think it may be coming from first thoughts was pcv valve so i checked that and and i dont think enough oil could come out of that to cover the rocker cover really!! so i thought i dont have a bolt in the clip that holds the ht leads to the rocker cover can oil come out of this guys?? if so i think that could be the problem also does this hold the rocker cover down because it did seem to be coming out of the top right corner of the rocker cover gasket maybe? this only started today when at high boost in 5th i guess the pressure was higher than normal so it came out of somewhere with the pressure that it wouldnt normally? and help would be greatly appreciated as i need this sorting quickly i lost a bit of oil today ..thx neal

thats a good sign then mate, check as the others said and try to tighten the nuts! any pics?

make sure the breatherf isn't blocked

i would make a wild guess and say u fried a piston ring land or broke the rings..all that oil will be caused by this as a result of back pressure....to be on the safe side take it for another hard drive and check if anymore oil comes up.....tighten the bolts first as suggested...if u get more oil then do a compression test..

cheers for the answers guys i hope to god its nothing major as i just dont have the funds to fix it at the moment i checked today and theres no fresh oil ive wiped it all down and it seems to be coming from the back right hand corner?? but if it was the rocker cover gasket how would it get on the rocker cover itself? it would drip down?? theres a lot on the back of the cover like near the injectors and it looks like its dripped onto the inlet mani?? so ive tightend all the bolts up (they wernt really THAT loose?) and wiped as much of as i can so ill see what happens today and report back to you tonight thx again guys wish me luck lol!
