Rocker cover seal leak question

Quick update.

Spent about 6 hours on the car at the weekend. Fitted new rad, cleaned up all the oil and gave the engine bay good going over. New rocker cover 'race spec' fittings. changed oil and filter etc..

No more up and down revs but im still getting oil from my rocker cover but its definately coming from the spark plug seals (2 of them). Ordering new ones today (all four) and fitting those on Saturday, which im hoping will be the last of the leaks once complete.

Will update on Saturday and get some pics of how shes looking now days.

again, i would not use sealant if you have new seals/gaskets.

i have used bathroom silicone as a bodge when i had a rock hard cam cover seal, but if you clean everything properly and fit a new seal then you will have no issues.

not a fan of using sealant where you dont need it. you wont need to do it twice if you do it properly the first time

I'm the same. Sealant is just the lazy way to do and usually ends up in a mess. Just spend a few extra moments to make sure both surfaces are clean and make sure the gaskets seated correctly and you will have no leaks.

The only time I use sealant is just a tiny bit on each corner to get the gasket to stay in place when you flip it upside down.

I recently did my GT4 cover and that was covered in sealant. Replaced with no sealant and its sweet as a nut :)
