Running lean

So I kinda figured out my problem. Haven't installed the walbro fuel pump yet but I'm hitting a bit of boost creep.

So the AFR's will read in the 13s when at full boost while hitting boost creep but will come down to mid 11's (where it's supposed to be) once the boost creep goes away and boost comes back down to 1 bar. Any solution besides porting my wastegate?

try a different air fitler.. a more restrictive one

Hmmm, well I'm runing a front mount set up. 2" vacuum hose to a clamp on type K&N air filter. Like this:

What would you recommend?

you have your air filter relocatated 2 the front ya?? that can cause boost creep.. u could try a good cone filter 2 see or just bite the bullet and port the wastegate.. easy enough 2 do with a dremel

Only thing is, even though I'm hitting boost creep, I'm still leaning out while hitting boost creep. Shouldn't the fuel system be able to compinsate and give a safe AFR while hitting boost creep instead of leaning out to 13:1-14:1?

So I ported my wastegate. Now halfway through my rpm range in 2nd it goes from 15psi to 13psi. 3rd gear stays at 15 psi. 4th gear goes a little bit past 15psi. When it's at 15psi my afr's are in the 13s. When it drops down to 13psi my afr's are mid 11s.

I also noticed there's a hairline crack on my wastegate.

Anyone?

That mightve been the problem but I would recommend changing to a stock fpr and injectors as you'll get a better, more efficient burn in the cylinders instead of flooding them with fuel.

So my AFR's started to run rich. 11:0 - 11.5 during boost creep and 10.0 when it settles. Popped the vac line off my RRFPR and it was set at 55+ PSI No wonder. Previous owner must have set it that high when he was running lean on the stock pump. After adjusting the RRFPR a few times got it to 50 PSI which gave me an idle at 15.0:1 which is normally ideal. But was still running rich after boost creep settled. Tuned it down to about 46-47 PSI and it's running like a top now. Idle is a bit rich (14.0 - 14.5) but at 15 psi (boost creep) I'm at 12.3ish and when it settles down to around 13-14 psi I'm at 11.7ish. Car is definitely quicker as now I have barely any traction in 2nd gear. Always was fine before. Pretty happy with the results.
