RX-7 Top Mount - Leave scoop surround on or take off ?

Hi,

As the title says, is it best to take the black scoop surround out if you have an RX-7 cooler fitted ? Will air channel properly to it ?

I took the black scoop rubber off and made my own larger foam style replacement in its place

the oem cover wont fit over the rx7 tmic properly. best is to try and make up one of your own..having one realy does help with air flow through the tmic!

Cool, cheers lads. I ripped it all off and noticed the gaps, I'll go get some foam the day and have a look at making something up to fit to the bonnet.

edit - Wee update, went and got foam heating insulation from B&Q and fitted that round the back and sides on the bonnet. Modified the scoop surround by cutting it to size to fit the front of the top mount. Sits nice and tight now and the air should only flow into the cooler.
