shock absorber upgrades?

Hi all...

I had my car booked in today for my whiteline goodies to be fitted including some -40mm springs. I have been informed that the shock absorbers on the front are leaking and need replacing...

I was going to get some kyb shocks for front and rears shortly anyway to go with the springs and I don't want coilovers.

Before I get these, is there any other shock absorbers people can recommend that work well with -40mm whiteline springs?

I've seen Toby sells them, is there anyone else on here that does too?

thanks for any help

if u are getting lowering springs.....i would advise u to also invest in some UPRATED shock absorber........as the OEM (or any standard replacement) shocks will go bad very fast with lowering springs

i recomment any of the following ---TRD shocks, KYB SRs (KYB offer several uprated shocks to suit different needs), Koni (front are inserts---adjustable), etc

if money is tight....at minimum get some KYB GR2---close to OEM shock...but seem to handle lowering springs a little better

Kev,

As mentioned either get some good KYB's from Yahoo (not the stock ones they sell here) or bite the bullet and get some Koni adjustables. There not the cheapest but will take the force and are well matched to the WL springs.

I run Koni and WL on the run around, fine for UK roads and a little adjustability as well. Can't fault them really. If this is not for you then the next step is coilovers, either new or s/hand.

Thanks,

I'm selling a set of Koni ones (the yellow Koni Sports, adjustable type), but i don't have my Classifieds ad up yet, i posted it, but no its not appeared, U2U me if you're interested - they're PERFECT and not even out the box (ordered from Toby a while back and never got round to fitting them, then sold my old GT)

I'll do ya a good price on them mate :)

If your got the springs, i would get Koni or TRD..

if you didt had the springs i would have put on a complete Tein suspension..
