Smell of burning at idle

i drive a glanza v, with the following mods (incase this smell mite be caused by any of these). when i'm driving, if i come to traffic lights or if i pull up somewhere and the car is running i can get a kind of burning smell.. can anyone please try help as it is kind of worrying and dont want the car to go up in smoke on me i've only bought it :D

My car has a permanent smell about it, that I can only describe as 'Knockhill' (or any other performance car gathering)

Almost burnt oil/unburnt fuel or something similar, but I know its not (no oil usage and no smoke etc).

My friends Glanza, and another's impreza all have the same sort of smell about them too.

Check for anything touching the exhaust/exhaust manifold etc.

Check for oil usage and keep an eye on your fluid levels.

Check for oil leaks too.

If its none of those god knows :p

how long has it been doing it for? have u spilt any oil or similar fluids on the engine block?
