Speedometer issues

Wasn't using one for a while finally bought a new speedometer cable and installed it. The prob is it reads wrong it skips and jumps up and read way more speed than what is actually being done.

Any clues?

You still running it in KM's or MPH?

Maybe it needs a cable converter or something to get the correct reading?

do you have a speedo convertor? they can make speedo act strange when they get knackered. also, make sure the speedo cable is attached both ends correctly.

if that is all ok, get a drill and use it to make the cable turn. do it at the gearbox end. if the speedo seems to work correctly then the drive in the gearbox is buggered.

Make sure the cable is seated correctly into the gearbox. It can be a bit fiddly to install and easy to cross thread.

No converter mine is in kph. its really annoying. lol
