Tbh with the price of sams springs now at $89 on his site and the cost of retainers at a lil over £200 you could buy cruise spring for £250, saving youself a world of hassle. Wich is the route i think ill take. Ill let people know if the same hassles apply when my crusie springs are fitted but im expecting a faily easy insatl with them.

Cruise springs require machining of the head aswell as there longer than standard springs.
So therefor not so cheap.

omg it was you that brought a set yeah jimmmy down there said he had another head in with same fault as mine after i gave mine in i dont no weather to use the springs again i cant belive how hard these springs are

if somone could tell me the differents in pressure to the criuse set and speedvisions set i will use them again but not the cams lol to scared to

rory how comes they need work to god there not cheap then seeing as there 250 quid and also not a direct fit i have head many people fit these not a problem they might be longer but may have a diff lay out so coil bind is not to happen, bare in mind i havent seen a set or have not seen on any tradders page that they need adjustments

to be honest speedvision springs could be for any engine some v12 mustang engine who knows they could be repackaged from another engine but to me they have massive pressure compared to standard now to stop valve bounce is this extra massive pressure needed

also to keep you guys updated i got the report back from sumo 2 weeks ago and the day i got it back i sent it to him with some pictures with the damage and explained whats damaged by email and last week i heard from him and was just a email to say is the head stripped i have replyed yes most of it as sumo did the report on the whole engine as not worth me saying what went rong and what wasent checked so i got sumo to get the report

my kids due in 15 days and i want this solved and out the way mean while i have got another block cheap and just want to know what i can do or be done next as i have no money at the mo, my last 5e cost me 4500 in total now have a kid on the way cant be paying this sort of money again

i am winning to rebuild it my self i havent been a bastard and given the car to nick and said your fault you fix, i want to build again so aint labour cost this time i will do the head work myself just at the time i had a family member pass away and family problems and also didnt want to take up any more time wasteing on my build so at the time spoke to nick who was happy to do the work on my head...........

ill give nick till friday then ring him i suspose

Little advice please I heard that cruise and speedvision valve spring are longer than stock one.Why it`s longer I guess that when compress longer spring it will be more stiffer but if machine the valve seat the spring will be release thus the pressure will be same as stock one? am I right? what if we just cut the aftermarket spring to be same height of stock one or just put thicker washers under the stock one to make it more stiffer. Please advice as I intend to buy valve spring but am confused about those aftermarket one having lots of problem.Don`t really know what to buy? Thanks

they are all direct fit they need stuff like the washer at the bottom were the springs set to be remachined down to stop coil bind some springs will go straight in and some wont my advise to you matey is not to use another washer using a washer will cause more noise then normal and also could jump out of place at high revs

i wouldent even think about cutting them down dude the reason being they are taller is like you said to up the pressure the speedvision ones are taller then the cruise ones you can have uprated valve retrainners made that let the spring sit a tiny bit higger to stop coil bind and causing damage mate

again if your not reving over stock limiter then i wouldent bother changing them doing this kind of work is not easy and many calculations are needed and measurements matey hope this helps

still heard nuffin from my builder yet he has been informed of all this has a full report of my engine from sumo what else is left

my advise is to you guys that have these is to get them out as will cost you some money if they wasent fitted proberly or if your head sounds like a bag of nails
