DTA S60 - ECU is an amazing bit of kit, had some problems with the crank position sensor to start off with but now its amazing.

Dont no much about this ecu tbh,,,would love to hear more feedback and opinions of it off users....

Just the launch control at the moment matey, TBH we did live mapping and the weather wasnt the best going to do another map and add some more of the features. a local tuner fitted it for me and made the loom.

Overall the ecu has been great.

I have some 560cc injectors in running 1.2 bar on a td04 and it pulls really well, idles good. Need the coldstart looking at as its a bit hesitant takes 1/2 turns tostart in the cold but has never not started at all even with the cold weather over xmas.

All the features can be found here

http://www.dtafast.co.uk/S_60_PRO.htm

Quite a few features, hoping to get the flat shift and antilag setup at some point, but till then I'm going to do a few track days etc.

Sounds nice Mark, does the DTA stuff use the fordy stuff?

Ive had the HKS Fcon V Pro on my glanza, while i cant knock it for its simply plug in and map ease, its made 10 times annoying when you cant runover the changes yourselve in your spare time (HKS mapper only). Each user to there own; most jus want there car mapped just enough to drive it at the weekends or go to local meets, whereas others like playing with stuff to do with their cars especially adding a new mod. simple things like adjusting the cold start for the ecu, u'd have to leave the car there at the tuners overnight so it can be done in the morning when its cold or late at night. standalones are so preferable, as you can tweak it when ever you like and where ever you like. Even piggyback, i wouldnt go there again. one word of advice, dont listen to people who say there is no signal interferance, because there is and they are just being plain lazy. getting one to work properly can be abit backward, its like having a chinese whisper translator between what you get out of the car from inputiin signals. Like spuddy ive gone Haltech PS1000, it will be the fourth and last ECU ill be putting on my glanza, my only wish is that i did it sooner. i know of 2-4 starlets owners in the UK that have Haltech systems either on there car or ready to go on, and hear nothing but good things. yes it may cost abit, the quality is what your paying for and software is easy to use. ive been playing around with it on my laptop for awhile, and cant wait to be playing with it on my glanza. The way things are going with ecu's, i would be suprised if there was an Iphone app that allowed you to connect to your ecu for quick changes.

Standalone FTW

have 2 starlets one with apexi powerfc and one with haltech e6x
you have total control and room for expansion in terms or types or setups(sequential, coil packs, different trigger mechanisms, nos control , anti lag ect)
while the power fc good ness is that its P&P and your off !! easy to use , knock light so you can see your knock count , hand controller ,
i use datalogit to refine what ive tuned to get the best results.

jam racing ecu with jam actuator. does this count as stand alone?
when i got my glanza it was totally standard apart from these 2 items, and it made 159.2 bhp! (with aircon, standard cat and manifold) jam actuator still allows high and low boost. high being 1 bar and low being .5 bar
i thought it was very good.

Not really, you can't map it. The power is not bad, but aircon only loses power when it's on, the rest of the time the pulley isn't connected to the pump.

What i think regarding finding a good tuner for your selected management is that if you feel competent, do it yourself, it's not rocket science after all. If your paying £350 - £400 a tune you could probs buy all the equipment you need to road tune like wideband, knock sensor, det cans + other gauges for feedback and also read some books maybe on tuning.

Saves you alot in the long run, especially if you have to keep going back to the tuner for small adjustments which i don't think is a viable option £350 - £400 a go LOL. Only disadvantage is for some ecu's require software you need to write to where you have to become an authorised dealer to use it.

You can start off with a piggy bank ecu's as a learning curve for tuning as this will take care of the headache part of the tuning like setting up cold start, calibiration tables like voltage compensation, failsafes, part throttle etc as the stock ecu piggybanked will take care of all this and all you have to concentrate on is AFR at WOT and spark timing. Just something to think about thats all.

Aye the ford coil pack etc.

IF you dont mind me asking Mark, has it cost you alot?

Ah, the coil pack is off a GT4 with custom made leads, got to be honest mate its cost me a lot yeah.

The ECU was £800 on its own, the loom was £250 then all the plugs and adaptors. I have no idea of a total price as I had the one off manifold and downpipe made, as well as external wastegate, new intercooler piping made, 560cc injectors, rad brackets welded and it mapped all at the same time. The lot cost me around 3k in total so yes a heck of a lot.

It feels fast and I'm really happy with the work but part of me wishes id just bought a new car.

As i'm getting a bit old now and the GT's not the most comfy and its definately not quiet.
