so....that me nackerd to try and get 180bhp yeah?great....:(

nope, i was 11 bhp short of the target, with a severley restricted air filter to control boost creep. if the creep was under control i;m confident i would have made more power.

He should drive a standard one and learn to drive before upping it to 180bhp . 180bhp in a 880kg car is a handful for someone with 0 experience and when he can drive, it will probably end up in a hedge within a few days of driving.

But its not my car, money or body so I am not bothered but he will look back and wish that he had listned when its smashed to pieces if at all he can look back.

if you can find the guys who designed the 4efte ECU, I'm sure you could remap it, now you know why you want a piggyback :p

yea jam basically re designed it and messed around with it, they didnt just get it out the car and remap it :(

if you want ultimate results cal youll need a piggyback of some sort. and tbh why not just get a job and save up mate? by the time ur driving neway you could easily save up for one

hes obviously just very excited about getting his car and making it go fast.

yeh but its everyday

Cal seriously you need to learn the starlet as it is !! you should count yourself very lucky that you have one at your age, and if you ever get a licence and drive it insured that count yourself even more lucky.

I know i was lucky i learned to drive in one and now its my first car, but as boost mad as i am, im takin things slow. And now it aint coz its auto blah blah blah, i have bens gt to drive too, but 230bhp in something that weighs like 800kg is scary stuff as much as you think you will be fine with 180bhp or whatever it is your aiming for.

I dont even drive bens car as hard as i want too coz im learning slowly, ive never been out of low boost (209bhp) i havent been on the road legally a yr yet. Ive had my first accident (which i believe every new driver has).

You must have alot of money sitting there then, you need insure, tax mot your car, petrol, all your mods the turbo ecu etc! just take things slow :) you have all the time in the world (if your sensible) :)

then dont fit it, enjoy your car as it is for awhile. REAL driving experience comes after you have passed your test. So concentrate on that for abit first! I will be the first to admit im stil learning after 9months of being on the road.

i'm on it nearly 2 years and i don't think anyone will ever stop learning...and it does take a few months to learn to drive in towns etc..and to ahndle boost on corners..i.e when boost comes on when your going around a corner for the first time..it's a different experience for sure...
@Cal why not get the parts and wait until you get on the road for a while..then install them..

For a start, pass your theory test then learn to drive.
My geuss at your posistion is, that mummy and daddy are going to insure as theres, and you will drive it as a named driver (which is illegal, if driving all the time)
People never stop learning, but you seem to know everything, so people trying to help you out is a waste of time.

Put it this way, you talk out your arse, and get a grip.
