starting issues

Hey Fellas ,sometimes i would turn my key and the car will start in one go .Another time she will turn over alot and when it do start ,you can hear the sound of an engine that has been flooded and puffs out some black smoke .At times it is so bad ,the engine turns over like is hydro locking (like a dead battery) ,start and more black smoke.I had this problem with the 4efte and now the same thing with the 5efthe.I have changed the starter and the battery is brand newCould it be my EMU ?

All cars use water/coolant and oil .

thats funny mine dosent use eney water. it leaks a little oil but dosent burn it .
dose it use alot of water ?

Yow this is a freshly built 5efthe and i dont loose water.it is a fuel problem u seemed to be confused

try the ect sensor it controls fuel and cold start

Hey Mark dont get me wrong ,i thought u were askin if the car burns water and or oil.It does it when the car is hot as well.can it be the lag times on the EMU

maybe it is get it checked just in case. like i say ect sensor controls fueling starting hot and cold its worth a shot . alot of people are having staring issues recently

there is a setting in the emu that can sometimes adjust itself and affect starting, ccmchris knows all about it.
