i would love an ek9 but for me the price they are just aint worth it i dunno im sure they r nice cars b4 the vtak crew bend me over. just sayin for the money the facelift '00' ones cost u could get an evo. if they was a tad cheaper then i would love one. then strap a turbo on it.

just outta curiosity how much is it these days to properly turbo a civic?

I agree with you that they are priced very high and for the money you can have something that performs better. EK9 just separates the people that are not "in the trend" if you know what i mean. And enthusiastic about the car and not just looking for unbelievable straight line speed and masses amounts of torque.

EK9 is aimed at particular people. I do agree with that. However i do believe no hatch back offers the same experience as a well set up 9. Not saying in performance terms just the whole package, how connected everything feels. Some crave that.

When you say a properly turboed civic what do you mean? Principle is the same. High boost needs lower compression so the internals need to be built to suit.(lower comp pistons/gasket etc) Depending what engine your turboing depends on how much boost you can run from a factory spec due to compression varying between engines. The B series type R engines are very high comp so 6PSI on completely stock internals would be just ok for daily.

I was still thinking about this, engine kinda died lastnight though so wont be swapping now. But i will definetly be getting some sort of vtec in the future!

As for turboing it, i rang ricky from race tech about it, and for a decent turbo set up he said he could do it for about 2.5k , that includes everything , front mount etc. and would see about 300-330bhp ! tempted :) ?

I went out in a mates ek9 and the acceleration was very good, thought it was in km/h rather than mph as we hit 60 with ease, the noise of the exhaust and vtec cross over was aggressive, I would probably choose an ek9 over a ep as you have to spend a fair amount of money to get the kind of well roundedness that the ek9 has.

If i could afford a 9 i would get 1 but not too sure on the uk vtaks! If i could get 1 with around 220bhp or a k20 i definately would :) Wana go fast round corners ftw!

totally agree mate, if only i had the coin i would defo consider an ek9. love them. something like a supercharger on it or a turbo, get it around 300whp. would be ace.

and im sure ive heard of civics from ricky lee makin that kinda power on stock engines safely, could be wrong tho.
