How many kms/ miles do they recommed a timing belt change to be done at?

Also can you confirm if it does go if it rogers the engine to pieces or is it one that doesnt do any damage - it just goes?

Cheers guys

word on the street is its non interference so should be ok if the belt went.

cambelt change interval is 100,000km.

if its a fresh import or you are unsure its ever been done then just change it. should last a good while then.

cheers fella, I have had a car where the cambelt went before and i f*&ked 6 out of the 8 valves and was very costly to sort! So I have always worried about it!

there is a sticker on the cover and the japs have written 93000 km and a date of something 2003, looks like the kit is only approx £45 for everything so i'll get a labour cost quote for a garage and look to get one fitted in the new year, just for peace of mind more than anything

yeah, rule of thumb is usually every 100,000 miles or 10 years for most cambelts. usually a bit less when its a performance motor

nope, 100,000 miles. but like i said, perfromance motors can be different. thats just a general rule for most cars out there.
