Tongs Turbo has anyone ever noticed.......

right the tongs turbo has a huge wastegate penny.

has anyone noticed this seems to catch on the decat gasket have been reading some people were making late boost on them like no boost at all then at 4k bang a shit load of boost.

i have a new tongs gt spec sitting here and am concerned about this have searched the forum for info but didn't find much. now my mate had a problem with his late boost he said the turbo was making full boost at like 4.5k so he grinded some of the gasket away on the inside and he made boost around 3k has anyone else had a experience with these similar

any comments on this would be helpful

mine has been fine. if you fit a genuine gasket then it should be a problem.

I fitted mine with a genuine gasket and it looked like it was going to catch so i took a bit off the gasket while it was in place. Never had any problems with it though.
I never actually disconnected the actuator to see if it would catch or not though

when i ran the hybrid mine caught on the wastegate and gave me a fair few problems. cos i couldn't work out why boost was un controllable lol grinded a bit off and it ran sweet ever after.

I had the same turbo and knew it would catch b4 I fitted it so I took a little bit off and never had a problem
