heya guys,as some of you know i had booked my first ever trackday for the first part of this year and it got cancelled,so i booked another for a week or so after that and that got cancelled aswell due to snow/ice.
Was really gutted and the reality was that my brands hatch trackday booked for the 13/03/2012 was very nearly cancelled for the same reasons which would have been seriously unlucky,but fortunatley it went ahead.
the day started of cold and wet but by just after midday track was dry and i was really able to give it full throttle with all 70 bhp in the lil starlet sportif.
the car handled absolutley amazingly and i was so impressed with it.the upgraded a111brakes did not fade one little bit and infact only got better and better. i was breaking between the 2 and 1 marker on the main straight were i was hitting 98 mph which i was very happy with.
I was going into paddock hill at 60-65 mph and the g force at the bottom of that thing is crazy.
And through the last lot of bends i was hittng 75-80 mph.
i surprised alot of cars that day and what my car lacks in speed it makes up for handling and breaking.
tyres were kumho ecstas which were pretty dam good. didnt get the tyres to squeal once but thats due to the car being so balanced.
my mate neil came along in his stripped out 182 clio cup with toyo r888s on and he was only managing 113 on the main straight and just a few more mph in the bends which i was chuffed with,just shows the starlets can handle.
Will be doing some more trackdays this year as i have the bug now !!!
