unlocking an iphjone 3gs?

howd u get it was it from a contract? if not o2 prob use same method as vodafone so only legit way will be to contact them who will most likely charge you £20 they then send off to apple to unlock the phone which takes 2 working days then ull get a e-mail to confirm its done bang in a new sim card and sync with itunes and job done.
however due to the mass amouts of iphones that are getting stolen o2 may ask u take take ur proof of purchase and id into a store to prove were u got it from and if u cant do that u wont get ur money back or ur phone unlocked

bought it off a fella who had it on contract,he got an upgrade.
going to ask him 2nite will he ring o2 to see if they will unlock it for free.
i dont mind paying the 20 pound to leave it right,and legit.
not sure how o2 work but i doubt there be much diffrence if he had it on contract and had it long enought for an upgrade should be free for him. if u do have to pay for it ur normaly fine with the 3gs just any 4/4s in almost every case they will ask for proof of purchase and id which can be a bitch if u bought it off some1 else.
iphones always worth unlocking legit cause most places that do it on the cheap. still get the codes by paying the £20 they just dont use legit methods to pay for it so if they caught for it at any point they will just blacklist any handset involved

Above is the best route - If you fail with that you can jailbreak the phone and use ultrasn0w to unlock the baseband I believe. (I believe it's still legit as well)
