I drive a Glanza V with Backbox, midpipe and decat..Theres an acuator and a boost gauge.... When driving the car it boosts fine up on till 5000 rpm and then the car just stops boosting..The boost gauge reads 9psi untill it reaches 5000 rpm then the boost gauge makes a funny noise and jumps to 11psi. I was told this could be boarderline fuel cut but the engine management light doesnt come on.....was also told this may be the clutch but the clutch is not slipping...the revs still go on up but do so at a very slow pace

Any ideas on this...

Any help will be greatly appreicated

Thanks in advance Paul

i dont think it's the clutch, when i had a slippy clutch it would still boost as normal...but it just slipped really bad and didnt want to goooooo!

also i hit fuel cut loads of times and my engine management has never come on....i didnt realise it should?

Yes, my car hit fuel cut around those boost levels and the engine light didn't always come on for me.

The earlier models don't flag up fuel cut in the same way mate. My hybrid mk1 never popped a lamp on either and it was fuelcutting like a be-atch. I think the mk3 GT's and Glanzas will hold the lamp on for a while but it can differ.

Sounds like you are suffering from boost creep from the change in boost pressure. Could be softly touching fuel cut as a result Paul, any fault codes logged at all?

no i have not down a test as yet but i will get one done asap....if it is touching fuel cut then the car is doing it every single time i drive it

Plumb low boost back in and drive it at a reduced boost pressure. If the car revs out properly through 5,000rpm then you can pretty much rule out the plugs, leads and ignition components. Keep an eye on the boost level to see if it's stable or still creeps too.

If it's overboosting then I'd hazard a guess that boost creep is causing you to hit fuelcut. Could be wrong but it would stand to reason mate.
