Be under no illusion about how potentially quick this car could be. Quite devastating with just an ecu, intake, mani back system, cams alone. Be on the tail of bigger cars if you went for this setup to start with, no doubt about it :)

Just a note, vtec controllers are a scam.. you won't make any gains, in fact you will likely make your car slower by moving the vtec engagement point. Honda didn't spend millions of $$'s on development only to be bested by a $10 piece of electronics. Spend your money elsewhere if you want performance!

'What?! make vtec come in EARLIER? why didn't we think of that!'

Look forward to pictures mate

mate your exactly right. my mate has one of those r spec controllers. he set it a 4k and it felt like the performance died when it kicked in then picked up again at the normal kick in point. id say its better at 5700 where it should be like you said if it worked im sure they would have had it further down

Well yes and no.

Lowering VTEC without changing everything else to suit, like fueling and ignition etc is foolish. But VTEC lowered correctly on lets say a Hondata or any other mappable ECU, it is proven to make the cars faster and more powerful.

Honda, amongst other things set the engagement point up higher for economoy/reliability/driveablity etc.

I even have a video of a S2000 tested on the track and dyno at different points of VTEC engagement, the lower the more power to a point.
