The wife's starlet is a 1994 quadlight manual under the ashtray are 2 buttons 1 says manual the other is automatic anyone got idea what they're for?

can get pics if this isn't an easy answer.

The two buttons operate the electronically controlled transmission system. The buttons should be labelled PWR and MANU. Chances are that the vehicle was once an auto. You will probably find the ecu is an auto one unless they fitted a Glanza ecu during the conversion.

nope.. an auto ecu will work just fine...
with a manual ecu the loom needs to be converted to 2 plugs instead of three, and the tps works differently too. with a manual ecu and an auto tps the car will fail mot, was the ecu does not understand a "real" tps signal (varaiable resistor). a manual ecu only understands 3 signals, not a range of resistance.

Yeah I got the words mixed up lol I'll check ecu tomorrow see whats going off...
